Genomics Lead

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Genomics Lead to oversee all gene sequencing, gene mapping, marker development, and gene editing projects within the company. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary liaison between the company and our academic and industry collaborators, manage internal genomics data, and analyze and interpret these data to assist in developing superior crop varieties. The successful candidate will hold a master's or doctorate degree.

What you will do:

• Lead Genomics Projects: Oversee sequencing, mapping, marker development, and editing initiatives, ensuring alignment with company goals.
• Facilitate Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between the company and academic/industry partners for effective research collaboration.
• Manage and Analyze Data: Safeguard internal genomics data, providing analysis and interpretation to support superior crop development.
• Drive Innovation: Implement innovative strategies to enhance R&D capabilities in genomics and crop improvement.
• Provide Leadership: Act as resource person in genomics and ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
• Oversee and manage all gene sequencing, gene mapping, marker development, and gene editing projects.
• Serve as the liaison between the company and academic and industry collaborators.
• Act as the gatekeeper for all internal genomics data, ensuring its integrity and security.
• Analyze and interpret genomic data to assist in the development of superior crop varieties through both traditional and genomics-based methods.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance the company’s genomics capabilities.
• Ensure all genomics projects comply with regulatory requirements and ethical standards.
• Ensure the highest level of commitment to Safe Quality Food (SQF) in order to provide assurance that all products have been produced, prepared and handled according to the highest possible standards.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the genomics team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Prepare and present reports on genomics research and project progress to senior management and stakeholders.
• Stay current with advancements in genomics and related fields to continuously improve the company’s research and development efforts

What you will bring:

• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Genomics, Genetics, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in gene sequencing, gene mapping, marker development, and gene editing.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with experience in bioinformatics.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin is required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with academic and industry partners.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management abilities.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and ethical standards in genomics research.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
