Senior Application Scientist - Product Development

We are looking for a Senior Application Scientistto join our team and support the Flavors business in North America.

This position is a key member of the Sensient team, where you will be required to collaborate onsite in Hoffman Estates five days per week.

Job Responsibilities:

What you’ll do:

• Create ice cream, bakery and confectionery products to demonstrate Sensient’s product lines and effectively communicate the status of projects to the Applications Manager.
• Demonstrate leadership skills by integrating creative and technical expertise in a team environment.  Participate in cross-functional project activities.
• Identify and focus resources on new technologies and ingredients that will provide innovative solutions to customer and industry issues.
• Work with a sense of urgency and be customer-oriented.  Provide ongoing communication with the Sales team to provide the customer with timely service to meet their objectives.
• Utilize the expertise of the creative flavorists and sensory groups to provide flavor systems that meet or exceed project objectives.
• May accompany Account Representatives on customer calls to help educate our customers on company strengths and capabilities.  Assist the customer by providing solutions for their product and process challenges.
• Some travel may be required to visit customers and support plant scale ups.
• Work in our pilot plant to help run equipment and test new products. 

What you’ll bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent in experience in Food Science/Food Technology, chemistry or related technical area.
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience food and/or flavor industry product development.
