Sanitation Lead

In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring the sanitation and safety of equipment and work areas, while also guiding a team of sanitation professionals to maintain the highest standards.

What you’ll do:

• Oversee the sanitation team to ensure cleaning tasks are completed accurately, safely, and in a timely manner.
• Train and develop new team members on sanitation protocols, safety practices, and equipment usage.
• Maintain and follow a sanitation schedule, ensuring all tasks are documented and executed as per company guidelines.
• Use power equipment and perform hands-on sanitation tasks to keep the facility clean and compliant with food safety standards.
• Communicate regularly with the Sanitation Supervisor to report on task progress and any equipment or area challenges.

What you’ll bring:

• Strong ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, with the ability to follow written sanitation protocols (SSOPs).
• A proven ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, ensuring all sanitation tasks are carried out with minimal supervision.
• Experience working with hazardous chemicals and ability to operate cleaning equipment like power tools, floor scrubbers, and lifts (e.g., scissor and boom lifts).
• Comfort working in high places (up to 30 feet), confined spaces, and in varying environments, including hot and humid conditions.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform tasks requiring bending, twisting, and maneuvering in tight spaces.

Onsite Requirements: This role requires the ability to work in a variety of physical environments, including high places, confined spaces, and with industrial cleaning equipment. It also involves the occasional use of power tools and sanitation chemicals, with adherence to strict safety standards.

Sensient Natural Ingredients is one of the largest producers and distributors in the world of dehydrated onion and garlic products as well as chili powder, paprika, chili pepper and dehydrated vegetables such as parsley, celery, and spinach. These ingredients are used in many of today's popular convenience foods. The Natural Ingredients unit is located in Livingston, California. 

The hourly rate for this position is $30.83 per hour USD.  Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.  In addition to salary, Sensient is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits program to support the holistic well-being of our employees and their families. This position is also eligible for performance-based incentive pay.

RELOCATION: We are unable to offer relocation assistance. The successful candidate will be expected to work at the Livingston, California facility and must reside in the area or be willing to commute.
