In this role as a Sensory Technician, you will assist in execution of sensory panels under the direction of Sensory Manager and Sensory Scientist.  You will be responsible for panel preparation, execution, and clean up, as well as other sensory panel related administrative duties. 

What you will do: 

• Work under direct supervision of Sensory Manager to assist Sensory Team in execution of sensory tests including Descriptive Analysis, Discrimination Test, and Affective Tests in support of business objectives.   
• Be responsible for panel set-up, clean-up, including labeling cups, preparing references and samples, setting up panel room, serving, and cleaning panel areas and equipment. 
• Maintain the upkeep of the sensory laboratory, preparatory and booth areas.  Assist with restocking of laboratory and panel supplies. 
• Maintain safe, clean, and orderly work area following the company’s prescribed safety procedures and general GLP’s. 
• Assist in development of sample prep procedures. 
• Assist with team tastings and sensory trainings.  Participation in product evaluations. 
• Assist with sample handing.  Receive and unpack samples and ensure proper storage. 
• Work and interact with other members of the team, internal customers, as well as internal and external panelists. 
• Perform other related duties, which are reasonable within the scope of this description. 

What you will bring: 

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in science and food science with basic industry knowledge. 
• Prior laboratory experience in sensory lab or consumer testing center a plus.
• Applies GLP in all areas of responsibilities.  
• Be precise and accurate in conducting sensory evaluation.  
• Detailed oriented with good organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to rapidly changing priorities. 
• Be a Non-Smoker.
• Willingness to taste everything.  Absence of any serious food/fragrance allergies preferred. 
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
