We are seeking a talented Maintenance Buyer to join our team! This critical role involves sourcing and purchasing maintenance spare parts and services for equipment repairs. Key responsibilities include managing system data to support both automated and manual quotes and purchase orders.   Maintaining supplier catalogs and supporting a Preventative Maintenance program. The ideal candidate will have expertise in CMMS, ERP purchase order processes, equipment rebuild support, and excellent cross-functional communication skills. Participate in root cause analysis investigations on repeat equipment/process failures for continue improvement. What you’ll do:  

• Ensure that maintenance item data is kept up-to-date as required by a scheduled Preventative Maintenance program. It is crucial to review the work scope and sign off on necessary safety work permits
• Effectively communicates with all area equipment owners, supervisors, craftsmen, and internal customers to support all preventive, predictive and emergency corrective maintenance is executed to maximize craft time utilization and minimize downtime to operations 
• Responsible for reviewing and reporting purchasing backlog to management regularly to support on-time completion of all work requests and predictive/preventive maintenance tasks
• Obtain parts information, identify replacement options for obsolete parts, and support spot buy purchasing for maintenance breakdown activities. Utilize the Management of Change (MOC) process for non-like-for-like or exact match situations in food production areas
• Works closely with Maintenance Managers to determine availability of maintenance parts and services to assist in delivery of new assets and capital projects 
• Conduct supplier part quoting to ensure best price and delivery

What you’ll bring: 

• A minimum of 3-5 years’ work experience as a Maintenance Buyer working in a maintenance environment, preferably with inventory management and stockroom experience
• Proficient in Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) with advanced knowledge. Skilled in utilizing various business software programs including JDE, AMMS, Microsoft Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with mechanical and electrical part purchasing, with a basic understanding of installation, operation, and required general purchasing best practices
• Carry strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Great attitude and customer service skills. Ability to collaborate with operations team and prioritize work for the team

About Sensient Natural Ingredients 

Sensient Natural Ingredients is one of the largest producers and distributors in the world of dehydrated onion and garlic products as well as chili powder, paprika, chili pepper and dehydrated vegetables such as parsley, celery, and spinach. These ingredients are used in many of today's popular convenience foods. The Natural Ingredients unit is located in Livingston, California. 

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 USD.  Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.  In addition to salary, Sensient is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits program to support the holistic well-being of our employees and their families.

RELOCATION: We are unable to offer relocation assistance. The successful candidate will be expected to work at the Turlock, California facility and must reside in the area or be willing to commute.
