Senior Manufacturing Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to spearhead the engineering team at Sensient’s Natural Ingredients business in Livingston, California. As a hands-on leader, you will oversee project management, engineering design, construction, and start-up of capital projects within the division. You’ll lead the Livingston site's 5-year capital planning process. Join us in driving SNI’s initiatives and objectives forward. 

What you’ll do: 

• Lead Livingston's Engineering group in all department aspects (capital planning and execution, process improvement, support to operations) to include oversee training and start-up of completed projects and systems. Testing, and introduction of new process equipment and/or technology. 
• Perform preliminary engineering definition and conceptual design or supervise external engineering design firms in such activities for all process improvement projects including designing modifications to existing buildings, equipment, and processes. This includes equipment sizing and specification, equipment and facility layout alternatives, control systems, securing quotations and final project cost estimation for capital appropriation requests.
• Lead/attend internal and external review, progress meetings, document project status and issues. Provide project updates and timelines to all necessary SNI personnel as necessary. Develop, design, plan, and budget all SNI capital projects. Lead and oversee capital project portfolio execution for the SNI network (Turlock, New Mexico).
• Provide project oversight of all outside engineering and construction firms on all capital project executions including the identification and selection of approved qualified vendors and contractors (contract engineers, equipment manufacturers, etc.)
• Facilitate and/or execute Continuous Improvement activities through analyzing facility and equipment capital needs, maintenance/repair programs, production processes and activities.

What you’ll bring: 

• Highly skilled with a strong technical background in various construction disciplines like power, controls, instrumentation, mechanical, civil, structural, safety, and design.
• Possess exceptional organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively, and be a proficient communicator with robust cross-division team leadership capabilities.
• Motivated self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Proficiency in sanitary design standards and experience in a regulated manufacturing environment are essential.
• A bachelor's degree in chemical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with a preference for a master's degree. A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in plant/process engineering and project management, particularly in the Food sector, is required. Additionally, possessing a Project Management certification such as Prince 2 or PMP is highly desirable.

About Sensient Natural Ingredients

Sensient Natural Ingredients is one of the largest producers and distributors in the world of dehydrated onion and garlic products as well as chili powder, paprika, chili pepper and dehydrated vegetables such as parsley, celery, and spinach. These ingredients are used in many of today's popular convenience foods. The Natural Ingredients unit is located in Turlock, California and Livingston, CA.. 

The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $100,000 USD.  Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.  In addition to salary, Sensient is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits program to support the holistic well-being of our employees and their families.  This position is also eligible for performance-based incentive pay.
