We are seeking for a self-motivated and driven Innovation Scientist for our Personal Care and Specialty Market (PCSM) Asia business unit. You will be working with a team of experts from Sensient and all over the world to deploy their technologies from food, flavor and beverage to cosmetics and industrial applications. In this role, you will report to PCSM Asia Innovation and Product Manager, integrate a team of experts to drive our Natural Color R&D platform for Cosmetic Division. 

What you’ll do: 

• Build the sourcing, biomass selection for natural colors, and extraction processes knowledge inside Sensient, in collaboration with other BUs and Group, with emphasis on upcycling if possible or with our agronomist to develop internal biomasses
• Following marketing priorities, Initiates innovation projects for natural cosmetic color taking in account ISO 16128 standard, cost efficiency, manufacturing processes, formulation lab, regulatory, quality & IP constraints.
• Develop new technologies to use and stabilize in cosmetic application the natural colors extracted from Biomass (R&D and pilot scale) and help to industrialize the process with our scale up Engineers.
• Capacity to conduct or assist analytical validation and characterization in order to assess new natural colors with cosmetic potential.
• Evaluate, analyze and interpret data and results with the help of Sensient application experts in skin care, make-up, hair care & color and toiletries applications. If necessary, improve quality of the new ingredients until they achieve the required level of performance. 

What you’ll bring: 

• Master Degree, PhD or equivalent in the field of chemistry from an accredited university required. 
• Minimum 5 years of experience in analytical methods, extraction, process, knowledge in natural color and / or in cosmetic is a plus
• Fluent in English and ideally fluent in Chinese
• Hands on laboratory work
• Ability to work in a structured and diligent manner with a high degree of precision. 
• Drive project work to completion in a timely manner to support business objectives. 
• Proactivity, organization, curiosity, sense of responsibility and ability to work independently and in a global team.
