We are looking for an Analytical Chemist to join our team and support our Winning FlavorsBusiness in North America.  

This position is a key member of the Sensient team, where you will be required to collaborate at our onsite in Hoffman Estates, 5 days per week. 

What you will do:

• Perform flavor research and analysis functions as needed
• Independently operate HPLC, GC-MS, and GC for food and flavor analysis samples, as needed
• Develop and validate non-volatile HPLC methods for both beverage and food products
• Initiate and develop projects and initiatives to improve Analytical Services with respect to workflow, instrumentation, methodology, lab resources and data management
• Maintain and troubleshoot HPLC and GCMS systems
• Proactively seek new, more efficient and accurate ways of conducting test procedures and practices to promote lab performance.
• Maintain awareness of evolving trends in HPLC and GCMS
• Leverage soft skills to thrive in a highly collaborative winning environment
• Facilitate information sharing across groups to communicate analytical chemistry information to other groups within Sensient and to customers, as needed
• Performs technical mentorship functions as needed
• Ensures continuing technical and leadership development of staff
• Assist in providing analytical perspective in budgeting process and be accountable for budget and results of team

What you will bring:

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry with 5+ years of experience in flavor analytical chemistry or related field 
• Or Master's Degree and 3+ years of experience or Ph.D.
• Required experience with independently operating Agilent HPLC instrumentation 1200 series and Agilent OpenLab CDS Version 2
• Preferred experience with operating Agilent series GC and GCMS instrumentation and Agilent Mass Hunter and Chemstation processing software
• Demonstrated experience developing and validating non-volatile HPLC methods for both beverage and food products

This role pays a competitive starting salary of $75,000 - $95,000.
