Quality Assurance Director - Natural Ingredients

We are seeking a Natural Ingredients Quality Assurance Director who will lead the development, implementation, measurement and maintenance of Quality and Food Safety systems that assure raw material, processes, and finished products consistently meet or exceed the quality standards of Natural Ingredients and global regulatory requirements.  The Natural Ingredients Business Unit site QA and QC Managers will report directly to this position, and will be working across three plant locations. 

What you will be doing: 

• Lead through change. Champion continuous improvement efforts and implement quality improvement activities to raise the performance of the divisions’ product lines. 
• Educate, mentor and train employees as to their impact on the quality management system.
• Develop, implement, and maintain policies and standards that assures raw materials, processes, and finished products within Sensient Natural Ingredients consistently meet the quality standards necessary for complete customer satisfaction. 
• Oversees the customer complaint process and ensures complaints are investigated and closed within the targeted timeframe.  Reviews CAPA and closes Quality inquiries in CRM for all Natural Ingredients units.
• Champion BRC compliance and a culture of food safety at each of the Natural Ingredients locations.
• Assists with vendor food safety and quality audits for domestic and international suppliers.
• Alert and provide counsel to the management team on technical, quality, and food safety matters.

What you will bring: 

• Preferably 7-10 years of experience in a leadership position within a Quality Assurance/ Food Safety/ Regulatory environment within the Food and/or Flavor manufacturing industry. 
• Experience working in a large international manufacturing environment also preferred. 
• Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certification and implementation experience preferred.
• Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification is required. 
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead through influence with multiple levels of leadership. 
• A minimum of a four-year equivalent degree in chemistry, microbiology, food science, or other related technical degree is required, advanced (Masters) degree preferred.

Sensient Natural Ingredients is one of the largest producers and distributors in the world of dehydrated onion and garlic products as well as chili powder, paprika, chili pepper and dehydrated vegetables such as parsley, celery, and spinach. These ingredients are used in many of today's popular convenience foods. 

The salary range for this position is $190,000 - $230,000.  Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.  In addition to salary, Sensient is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits program to support the holistic well-being of our employees and their families.
