In this role, you will collaborate with a global network of colleagues, to enhance our product portfolio and bring innovative solutions to life for our customers. By exploring emerging technologies, building strategic external partnerships, and transforming breakthrough ideas into commercially successful innovations, you will greatly contribute to redefine what’s possible in natural food coloring. 

What you’ll do: 

• Develop and scale innovative food color formulations by combining scientific expertise with novel technologies to deliver differentiated solutions to our customers
• Design, execute, and interpret laboratory research to evaluate new ingredients, technologies, and formulation approaches, using sound scientific principles and hands-on experimentation
• Develop natural food color formulations, assessing their performance, stability, and manufacturability while translating findings into robust product & quality specifications
• Scout, evaluate, and cultivate strategic partnerships with universities, startups, suppliers, and research organizations to accelerate innovation and expand our technology pipeline
• Lead cross-functional innovation projects from early-stage concept and technology assessment through scale-up and successful product launch, collaborating closely with our global R&D teams and other cross-functional stakeholders 

• Identify emerging trends, technologies, and scientific advances that can shape Sensient’s long-term innovation strategy and strengthen our leadership in natural food colors

What you’ll bring:

• A university degree in Chemistry, Food Technology, or a related field

• Solid professional experience in R&D, paired with a deep understanding of the development, production and science of food ingredients. Familiarity with natural food colorants is a major plus

• Ability to independently gather facts, plan and execute experiments, take project ownership and present to a diverse audience

• Excellent communication skills in English, additional proficiency in German is considered a distinct advantage

• Flexibility and a passion for travel, to collaborate face-to-face with internal and external partners
