We are looking for an Application Scientist I to join our Food Colors team, which continues leading the natural colors transformation, and where you'll represent cutting-edge solutions, and work with industry-leading customers. Supports projects where product applications are required to offer color solutions to food industry customers and ensures performance, functionality and stability of the new product developments.

This position is full time based in our Alajuela office.

What you’ll do:

• Conducts color application projects with supervision, including determining the most cost-effective solutions and creates new color customized solutions in the formulation system (item code and technical information associated).
• Reports on new product specifications and supports in customer reports and presentations to the Technical Service Manager or Technical team.
• Ensure quality, compliance, and operational excellence by following Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), maintaining laboratory equipment, reporting product specifications, and coordinating with Operations, Regulatory, and Quality teams.
• Scales up and first production supervision to ensure proper industrialization of food colors and runs stability tests for the new product developments of the sub-segment

What you’ll bring:

• Bachelor's degree in food or chemical engineering or equivalent education.  
• One-two years of experience in food industry formulation, product development, or application development dairy, beverages, confectionery, pet food, processed foods, snacks or bakery). 
• An enthusiastic, creative, and team centered approach to add to an amazing office environment.
• Fluent in English language.
• Ability to travel to visit customers up to 25% of the time.
