Regulatory Specialist I

We are looking for a Regulatory Specialist to join our team and support the Flavors business in North America. In this role, you will assure compliance of Sensient Technologies products with appropriate regulations and serve as a regulatory resource to internal and external customers.  Maintain technical documents related to formulas and finished products.  This position is a key member of the Sensient team, where you will be required to be onsite in the office, 5 days per week. 

What you'll do: 

• Supports internal customers (including Customer Service, Sales, Research & Development, Quality Assurance) by serving as subject matter expert in assigned areas by interpreting regulations,
• Providing information to address external customer needs as well as providing guidance to internal customers in the development of products by accurately maintaining product information databases. 
• Supports external customer by providing routine or standard technical information in areas of subject matter expertise / core technology.  Serves as a secondary resource for non-routine or confidential information disclosure.
• Adheres to regulatory procedures to assure compliance to Sensient Technologies compliance policies.
• Utilizes authorized Sensient Technologies systems for maximum efficiency and consistency. 
• Maintains up-to-date awareness and knowledge of the principles set forth in the food regulations for assigned core technologies, ingredient categories and associated regulatory agencies.
• Actively cross-trains with others to relieve high volume issues, maintain a balanced workload within the department, and support department projects. 
• Communicates information to appropriate personnel.  Actively listens and shares information and knowledge with others in an effective and a timely manner.  Ensures that appropriate information is communicated, received and understood. 
• Develops relationships inside and outside the organization to enhance personal and company effectiveness.
• Travel may be required on a non-routine basis.

What you'll bring: 

• Bachelor’s degree in science discipline (Food Science, Chemistry) or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of regulatory experience with high attention to detail. .
• Knowledge and understanding of food composition and chemistry  
• Understanding of acting ethically and respectfully when dealing with matters related to regulatory compliance. 
• Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external contacts. 
• Customer and collaborative focus to manage and execute projects, multitasking in an effective manner.
• Ability to judge the applicability of technical information from unrelated sources to issues specific to Sensient Technologies’ products and raw materials.
• Ability to gain and apply extensive knowledge of regional and international food and beverage regulations and their application.
• Ability to review, interpret and summarize technical information. 
• Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt with a changing environment.
• Primary language English, Secondary language preferred in French, German, Italian, or Spanish.
