Fabricator III

In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and fabrication of new agricultural systems and units alongside maintaining and repairs operational units that are used in our current harvesting practices.

What you’ll do:

• Maintain proper operation of all field equipment through preventative maintenance, overhaul, and transportation as well as identify and correct mechanical / equipment problems and failures.
• Working alongside Maintenance Supervisor and Manager regarding research and development projects, and carry out duties such as reading schematics, building material lists, fabricating units, as well as assist in testing of units once operational.
• Rebuilding and maintaining currently operational equipment including harvesters, diggers, high toppers, low toppers, toolbars, field tractors, forklifts, as well as units located at Livingston and Cortez locations. 
• Perform down season overhaul of assigned equipment projects, ensuring that all phases of the project are completed.  Responsible for specifying parts required, scheduling workloads on project groups, and generating project documentation (i.e. work orders, parts orders), etc.
• Help to maintain a safe and orderly work environment for all field personnel by identifying unsafe conditions and or operator actions and taking corrective actions and repairing and correcting potential safety hazards as soon as they are identified.

What you’ll bring:

• The physical ability to safely: stand, walk, use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance, and talk and hear.  The employee frequently is required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.  The employee is occasionally required to taste or smell. • The ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field, and must have, or be able to obtain, a general understanding of agricultural operations (i.e. planting, harvesting).
• The ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Basic geometrical knowledge necessary for fabricating equipment.
• The ability to speak and understand Spanish and English is preferred.
• Possesses a valid driver’s license and an agricultural hazardous materials transportation endorsement (or the ability to obtain endorsement upon hire).
• The ability to work near moving mechanical parts, vibrations, at heights or precarious places, in outside weather conditions while being regularly exposed to fumes, airborne particles or occasionally to toxic/caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.

Sensient Natural Ingredients is one of the largest producers and distributors in the world of dehydrated onion and garlic products as well as chili powder, paprika, chili pepper and dehydrated vegetables such as parsley, celery, and spinach. These ingredients are used in many of today's popular convenience foods. The Natural Ingredients unit is located in Turlock, California. 

The hourly rate for this position is $27.15 per hour USD. Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.  In addition to salary, Sensient is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits program to support the holistic well-being of our employees and their families.
