In this highly visible and impactful role, you will ensure Sensient’s global operations comply with international customs laws and regulations, as well as U.S. and EU sanctions regimes. Your expertise will guide the classification, labeling, import, and export of raw materials, intermediates, and finished goods—primarily across the U.S., EU, UK, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, and Asia-Pacific.

Thrive in this opportunity through:

Global Impact: Shape and influence trade compliance across more than a dozen countries and regions.

Continuous Innovation: Bring best practices, automation, and strategic insights to the forefront of Sensient’s global trade program.

What You’ll Do:

  • Establish and enforce global trade compliance policies and internal controls in line with U.S., EU, and other international import/export regulations.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive procedures and manuals to ensure organizational adherence to customs laws and regulatory practices.
  • Oversee global product classification (HTSUS, Schedule B, ECCN) and provide guidance to brokers and forwarders to support timely and accurate trade operations.
  • Lead compliance monitoring and audit programs, including formal site assessments, risk gap analysis, and customs inquiries or disclosures.
  • Manage standardized recordkeeping and represent Sensient in all customs matters with U.S., EU, and other global authorities.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years of relevant industry experience in international trade and compliance required; U.S. Customs Broker license and export compliance certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in trade operations and regulatory compliance, including deep knowledge of U.S. and foreign trade laws.
  • Expert in product classification and tariff strategies, with strong working knowledge of HTSUS, Schedule B, EU trade regulations, and related resources.
  • Technically proficient with Microsoft Office and ERP systems (JDE preferred); capable of translating complex trade concepts into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Strong problem-solver and communicator, able to work independently and collaboratively with global teams across all organizational levels.

What You’ll Get:

  • An opportunity to lead Sensient’s global entities by minimizing regulatory risk and maximizing corporate efficiency.
  • A collaborative work environment where your expertise will be valued and directly impact business success.
  • Ability to collaborate with peers and colleagues in office 5 days a week.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits package.
  • Opportunities for career growth and professional development within a dynamic, innovative company.
