Cognos Administrator & Architect

We are adding an exciting role to our global IT team!    We are seeking a “hands-on” Cognos Architect, Administrator & Reporting Author to design, develop, and implement various enterprise reporting solutions. The individual will primarily manage and support the Cognos 11.X environment. You will be a critical individual in taking Cognos to the “next level”.

What You’ll do: 

• You will utilize your excellent technical, communication and interpersonal skills to vision and create reports from business requirements and manage the Cognos 11.X environment. 
• You will work with business users and IT groups in an iterative fashion to gather, analyze, and clarify requirements; validate completeness and accuracy of the reports; and to deliver solutions to help business make better decisions.
• Utilize your experience with IBM Cognos 11 suite of components, especially Report Studio and Data Manager.
• Ensure adequate performance and minimal downtime of Cognos portals.  Enhance visual presentation of current reporting solutions.  Ensure production issues and tickets within Cognos environment are resolved in a timely manner.
• Perform data modeling and package creation in Data Manager.

What You’ll bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or a related field.  10+ years of Cognos 11 Administration.  10+ years’ experience with Cognos 11X installation and server patching
• 10+ years’ experience performing systems administration for complex Cognos 11 reporting environments. Minimum of 7+ years of expert proficiency in developing and maintaining reports using Cognos 11.
• 5+ years of troubleshooting and resolving Cognos related install and upgrade issues.  5 + years’ experience performing systems administration for complex BI reporting environments including Cognos version 10.x+ (Framework Manager, Transformer, Query Studio, Report Studio, and Analysis Studio)
• Expert-level knowledge of SQL, stored procedures, views, and triggers.  Expertise in the preparation of the architecture and design of data integration strategies and the implementation of data stores.
• Other BI tools experience such as Power BI, Qlikview, Tableau, Spotfire, etc. is a plus.
• Advanced skills using Cognos Report Studio, Query Studio, Active Reports, and Business Insight Advanced.

The salary range for this position is $122,000 - $143,000 USD.  Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.  In addition to salary, Sensient is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits program to support the holistic well-being of our employees and their families.
