Regulatory Specialist

In this role as a Regulatory Specialist within our Colors Group, you will assure compliance of Sensient Technologies products with appropriate regulations serving as a regulatory resource to internal and external customers.  Main job duties will include maintaining technical documents related to formulas and finished products.  It is required to understand, respect, and act ethically when dealing with matters related to regulatory compliance.

What you will do: 

• Support internal customers (including Customer Service, Sales, Research & Development, Quality Assurance) by serving as subject matter expert in assigned areas by interpreting regulations, providing information to address external customer needs, providing guidance in the development of products to internal customers by accurately maintaining product information databases.  Utilize authorized Sensient Technologies systems for maximum efficiency and consistency. 
• Support external customers providing routine or standard technical information in areas of subject matter expertise / core technology. 
• Adhere to regulatory procedures to assure conformance to Sensient Technologies compliance policies. 
• Maintain up-to-date awareness and knowledge of the principles set forth in the food regulations for assigned core technologies, ingredient categories and associated regulatory agencies.
• Communicate information to appropriate personnel.  Actively listen and share information and knowledge with others in an effective and a timely manner.  Ensure appropriate information is communicated, received and understood.
• Pursue personal development to improve and add skills to support internal and external operations. 
• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to a changing environment
• Provide external representation of Sensient Technologies while in attendance at technical sessions, courses or seminars. 
• Develop relationships inside and outside the organization to enhance personal and company effectiveness.
• Manage and execute assigned projects with other duties as asigned. 

What you will bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in science discipline (Food Science, Chemistry) or related field.
• Knowledge and understanding of food composition and chemistry is required.   
• Strong written and verbal skills. 
• Interpersonal skills and communication skills for engaging a variety of internal and external contacts. 
• Ability to judge the applicability of technical information from unrelated sources to issues specific to Sensient Technologies’ products and raw materials.
• Ability to gain and apply extensive knowledge of regional and international food and beverage regulations and their application.
• Prioritize workload and handle multiple tasks in a effective manner with attention to detail.   
• Ability to review, interpret and summarize technical information. 
• Strong computer skills, with the flexibility to learn web technology, SAP and ERP systems, and document control computer systems. 
• Primary language English, Secondary language preferred in French, German, Italian, or Spanish.
