We are looking for a Innovation Manger to join the Colors business in Somerset, New Jersey. This position is a key member of the Sensient team, where you will be collaborating onsite, 5 days per week.  

What you’ll do: 

• Oversee a team of Innovation Scientists and lead them to develop new technologies based on identified business needs, market trends and sales force input. This will be done in close collaboration with the Technical Application lab, Operations & Production, Quality team, Marketing & Product management and  Sales team
• Work on Technical customer requests that may include but not limited to expanding and or improving existing lines of cosmetic raw materials/ingredients products.
• Technical support of all aspects of manufacturing and customer support.
• Be Involved in the development and commercialization of such new products including Lab scale production, Pilot scale production and Full scale production

What you’ll bring: 

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry or related science field from an accredited university is required
• In depth knowledge of Color (Pigments) and the surface treatment thereof
• Some cosmetic applications formulation background is a plus. 
• Solid knowledge of Inorganic UV Filters
• At least 10 years’ experience working in the laboratory and/or production environment preferred
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with diverse groups of people at various levels
• Work independently to design, run and document experiments as well as be able to present findings in presentation and in written format.
• Experience in searching and filing a patent or at least some knowledge of the concept
• Planning and carrying out experiments related to development of personal care ingredients
• Familiar with procedures to transfer technologies from the laboratory to the production environment preferred
• Self-motivated, creative problem solver able to work well within a team environment 
• Able to multi-task and coordinate various simultaneous projects concurrently meeting deadlines while being flexible to changes in priorities and interruptions
