Pricing Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Pricing Specialist to support pricing strategy, contract administration, and business operations. In this highly visible role, you will analyze market-based pricing, historical sales data, and competitive information to develop pricing recommendations and support informed business decisions.

In addition to pricing analysis, this position is responsible for accurate agreement entry in JD Edwards, coordinating contract routing, and tracking agreements through the review and approval process. The successful candidate will work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Finance, Product Management, and other internal stakeholders to ensure pricing accuracy, efficient contract processing, and consistent execution of business procedures.

What you’ll do:

Pricing Analysis and Strategy

• Develop a strong understanding of Sensient's products, applications, product differentiation, and value proposition to support effective pricing strategies.
• Partner with Product Management, Sales, and other cross-functional teams to understand product value, cost drivers, market positioning, and customer needs when developing pricing recommendations.
• Leverage product knowledge, market insights, historical sales data, and product economics to identify pricing opportunities that drive profitable growth.
• Analyze pricing and margin performance to identify opportunities to optimize pricing, strengthen profitability, and align pricing decisions with business objectives.

Contract Administration and System Support: 

• Enter customer agreements and other applicable contract information into JD Edwards, ensuring accurate and timely system entry.
• Create and initiate contract routing workflows to facilitate agreement review and approvals. 
• Track contracts throughout the routing process, monitor approval status, and follow up with stakeholders to support timely completion.
• Coordinate with Sales, Customer Service, and other internal departments to resolve missing information, contract discrepancies, and routing delays. 
• Maintain accurate contract records and supporting documentation in accordance with established procedures.
• Verify agreement details and ensure contract terms and pricing information are accurately reflected in the appropriate systems. 
• Monitor outstanding agreements and communicate status updates, pending approvals, and processing issues to relevant stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to improve contract entry, routing, tracking, and documentation processes.

What you'll bring:

• A 4-Year College Degree, Business Management Degree preferred
• 2-4 years' experience in pricing analysis, pricing administration, contract administration, or business operations role preferred
• Strong analytical skills to compare past and current sales records to support market-based and value-based pricing decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as pricing analysts work with team members at all levels, including account managers and executive team members.
• Strong attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to maintain data accuracy and consistency across multiple systems and records.
• Advanced MS Excel, working knowledge of CRM software such as Salesforce, and ERP systems such as JDE, and other business intelligence systems.

About Sensient Agricultural Ingredients:
Sensient Agricultural Ingredients is part of the Sensient Flavors and Extracts business and produces and distributes dehydrated onion and garlic products, chili powder, paprika, chili pepper, and dehydrated vegetables. These ingredients are used in many popular convenience foods. The Agricultural Ingredients unit is located in Turlock, California.

The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $95,000 USD. Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.
