Sample Lab Technician

The Natural Color Expansion is here!!  Sensient is growing!!! We are adding a Sample Lab Technician to our team. 

This role supports the commercial sales process by providing samples of our products for customer evaluation. This role is responsible for roles such as entry of sample requests, formulation, packaging, testing, and shipping of samples.  Performs all duties of the other sample room positions, as necessary, to ensure timely shipments of samples.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Accurately weigh, measure, and dispense bulk color material into designated sample containers in accordance with approved SOP’s while maintaining full compliance with GMP requirements and quality systems.
  • Ensure all samples are properly labeled with required information, including product name, batch/lot number, date, and traceability identifiers.
  • Complete all required documentation accurately and in real time, including batch records, sample logs, and deviation report when applicable. Verify material type, identity, and condition prior to sampling.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and controlled work environment to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Immediately report any deviations, nonconformances, or quality concerns to supervisor or Quality Assurance.
  • Adhere to safety policies, including proper use of PPE and handling of cosmetic pigments, powders, and liquid colorants.
  • Pick, pack, and ship sample requests within the requested time frame ensuring regulatory compliance. To include FEDEX, and any drop-offs for other carriers to shipping floor for further processing.
  • Cycle-count all inventory associated with the sample room. Provides back up for other Sample Room functions, Sample Coordinator, and Sample Technician positions.

What You’ll Bring: 

  • College degree preferred in a science field of study.
  • Excellent organizational and labeling accuracy. Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Professional communication skills and quality-focused mindset. Ability to prioritize and be adaptable to urgent customer needs.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to perform efficiently and amicably while working on multiple projects simultaneously.

Position is a new headcount. The hourly rate for this position is $23.00 - $25.00 per hour CAD. Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.
