
General Laborer
JOB SUMMARY: This is a seasonal Forklift driving position with the opportunity to work during the off season doing other functional jobs throughout the facility. The position rotates shifts every six weeks
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supply multiple packaging areas with pallets and empty drums.
Remove and sort full drums of product from these same production areas and store in the warehouse and/or on flatbed trailers.
Pull product from and store both full and empty drums in warehouse.
Deliver empty drums to and remove from all dryer cleanup areas.
Put full bins on tube dryers and remove when dry.
Operate garlic seed line. Start/stop and adjust equipment as necessary to maintain finished product within specifications
Supply line with bins of raw material per lot codes identified by seed production manager. Return empty bins to designated area
Know and follow all plant safety rules
Fill out multiple inventory forms legibly and accurately.
Operate product line and maintain adequate product levels in surge tanks.
Maintain sanitation level of product line.
Maintain quality standards for product.
Check rock trap levels according to procedure and properly fill out chart.
Know and follow plant safety rules.
Fill out numerous control charts and forms legibly and accurately.
Follow all procedures, flowcharts and job models for product line.
Lube equipment according to schedule and procedure.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Good work habits/attitude.
Ability to be forklift safety trained.
Desire to participate in improving current job procedures.
Work cooperatively with others (team player).
Ability to read and understand product names, code, tags and follow written instructions.
Must be able to work in any lift position within any plant department, and on any shift.
Ability to read, understand and follow job description, jsa flowchart and job model
Must be available for overtime work on short notice. (e.g. come in, or stay over for 4 hour).
Ability to comprehend and communicate instructions, problems and questions.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Forklift Certification
Manufacturing experience a plus
