Maintenance Planner & Scheduler

JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Planner and Scheduler will be responsible for determining the scope, materials, and resources (internal and external) needed for maintenance work orders; ordering parts; making weekly schedules and organizing plant wide shutdowns; ensuring preventative maintenance is executed timely; and maintain spare parts inventory. Additionally, you will work with and audit vendors, contractor, and purchase orders to ensure cost effective and timely ordering of maintenance inventory. These responsibilities will be performed in compliance with all company and regulatory programs including, but not limited to:  SQF, HACCP, GMP, OSHA, FDA, USDA and EPA policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and schedule preventative and corrective maintenance to maximize utilization and minimize downtime to operations.
  • Manage and develop supplier/vendor relationships to ensure cost effective purchasing.
  • Own the Maintenance Inventory Management process interface with the Storeroom and assist in kitting parts for work orders.
  • Own responsibility for AMMS for the work order and preventative/predictive maintenance processes and equipment records. 
  • Manage purchasing for completion of maintenance activities and miscellaneous plant items'
  • Creates, develops, changes, updates job procedures and checklists, and initiates procedure Management of Change (MOC), as required.
  • Work closely with Project Managers to determine availability of maintenance crafts to assist in delivery of new assets and capital projects.
  • Comply with Sensient Technologies Corporation Code of Conduct and immediately report violations of laws, rules, regulations of the Code to the appropriate personnel.
  • Follow all company, regulatory and department policies regarding good manufacturing practices (GMP), plant rules, lock out/tag out, safety, HACCP, environmental and sanitation.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in maintenance environment, preferably with planning & scheduling 
  • Must have good organizational and communication skills, both written and oral are necessary. 
  • High level knowledge of all Microsoft software (in particular Excel and Word) and analytical skills to review and interpret data. 
  • Experience using maintenance software & ERP systems (AMMS and JDE is preferred, but other experiences are applicable)
  • Working knowledge of plant equipment is preferred (pumps, piping, heat exchangers, vessels, instrumentation, etc.).
  • Ability to work with or lead a cross-functional team 
  • Demonstrated learning ability.

  • Ability to communicate with peers, management, plant employees, and contractors is vital.
  • Ability to multi-task numerous projects and understand the urgency around them.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated and always seeking improvement.

Additional Information

  • This position is day shift Monday – Friday.
  • May be required to respond to off-hour call-in and emergencies.
