We are looking for an Accountant & Finance Analyst to join our team and support the Natural Ingredients business in Turlock, California. This position will need to have the ability to partner with Plant/Manufacturing Operations team to help them achieve their goals.  Using accounting and financial analysis experience, this role will support management and provide data driven recommendations. 

What you’ll do:   

• Carry General Accounting knowledge and experience to: 
  • Review month-end inventory balances and transactions. 
  • Post Journal Entries to GL and manage accruals. 
  • Work with plant management on inventory management and controls. 
  • Support the Controller with Corporate Reporting requirements at month-end, quarter-end, and year-end.   
  • Perform monthly account reconciliations.
• Knowledge of Production Metrics and Statistics such as: 
  • Must gain a deep understanding of Raw Material inputs and drivers about Sensient grown products (onion, garlic, and Parsley).  Manufacturing activities range from dehydration, to cooking, milling, blending, and repacking. 
  • Develop and report on production Key Performance Indicators to plant management. 
  • Review spending (Supplies, Repair & Maintenance, and Labor) on a regular basis and provide summarized information to management.   
  • Manage product standard costing (Bill of Materials, WorkCenter rates, etc.)
  • Review and publish manufacturing variances. 
• Knowledge of Financial Analysis
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Run Return On Investment (ROI) analysis on capital projects.
  • Support sales team with ad-hoc analysis as needed. 

What you’ll bring:  

• 5+years of Finance and Cost Accounting experience in a manufacturing and/or food processing business 
• Possesses a positive attitude and ability to hit the ground running 
• Advance level of Microsoft Office Excel required. MS Access a plus. 
• Good understanding of general ledger
• Excellent organizational skills, leadership qualities, and interpersonal skills 
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred. CPA is a plus.

About Sensient Natural Ingredients 

Sensient Natural Ingredients is one of the largest producers and distributors in the world of dehydrated onion and garlic products as well as chili powder, paprika, chili pepper and dehydrated vegetables such as parsley, celery, and spinach. These ingredients are used in many of today's popular convenience foods. The Natural Ingredients unit is located in Turlock, California.  

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $95,000 USD.  Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.  In addition to salary, Sensient is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits program to support the holistic well-being of our employees and their families.
