Application Technologist
At Sensient, we are hiring an Application Technologist for our Essential Oils Team. We offer this full-time, office-based role in Barcelona, Spain.
This is a great opportunity for a highly autonomous specialist, directly reporting to the R&D Manager. You will be working in our GC-MS equipped analytical and application lab with high qualitative, nature authentic profiles that are less volatile to quality and price than natural raw materials. This means we provide you with a solid and stable job in an exciting and growing environment.
Our portfolio includes end use products for Fragrance Houses, Flavour Houses, Aromatherapy, Personal Care, Oral Care and Home Care.
What you’ll do:
- Develop applications needed by the commercial team and collaborate with other labs in the Sensient Group to share knowledge and equipment
- Weigh formulations during prototyping stages and before dispatching samples to the customers
- Select the appropriate existing blend from the library to satisfy the clients’ needs
- Support in formula development, validation and efficiency testing
- Manage and prepare the analytical instrumentation and gas chromatograph set-up
- Collaborate with Product Managers for the creation and management of our libraries
- Maintenance of raw materials stock, packaging, labeling and cleaning of laboratory equipment
What you’ll bring:
- To help you be successful in this role, we ask you to bring a Certificate of Laboratory Technician + two years of work experience in a similar role
- As you will be responsible for our lab equipment and GC-MS, we need you to have working knowledge of dealing with lab equipment
- Good English skills are an advantage, because you will be working in an international environment
