Sample Lab Technician
JOB SUMMARY:
Supports Sample Order Department and QC in Harbor Beach by compounding production controls and library samples. Supports the flavor shelf-life initiative with responsibility for placing samples into appropriate storage conditions and pulling samples at defined intervals and sending them to Sensory Dept in Sedge for assessment by them.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accurately compounds a broad range of flavors such emulsions, extracts, and liquid mixtures from formulations provided.in support of both QC and customer sample requests
- Conducts physical, chemical and organoleptic testing as appropriate on flavors compounded
- Maintains a safe and professional laboratory environment; complies with government and company safety directives.
- Maintains equipment and organizes inventory of both raw materials and finished flavors
- Co-ordinates replenishment of raw materials
- Utilizes good communication skills, both written and oral; enters and maintains accurate and thorough records as required.
- Participates in QC sensory panels as well as day to day organoleptic evaluations and screenings of flavors.
- Manages shelf-life testing of flavors, under the direction of QC manager
- Completes tasks in timely fashion according to priorities provided
- Performs other duties as assigned to support needs of business.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Educational requirement should be in line with other SOD personnel
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs and stand frequently.
- Must use required personal protective equipment which may include use of a respirator.

- Required by Supervisor: Tasks, priority status and timing communicated by supervisor or Operations Director.
