Agricultural Data & Controls Specialist

We are looking for an Agricultural Data & Controls Specialist to join our team and support the Natural Ingredients business in Livingston, California.  You will assist Directors and Department Managers with the preparation and distribution of legal contracts, addendums and leases. Setup fields and growers in ExtendAg database and ensure that all information is accurate and current.  Work with Scale House and State Inspection personnel to ensure that all raw product loads and inspection results are entered into ExtendAg properly. You’ll be responsible for crop sample preparation and shipment, review and monitoring of all raw material pesticide and solids samples.  Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with little supervision and considerable discretion, judgement and tact. The ideal candidate will be responsible for answering the main office phone, greet and direct visitors.

What you’ll do:  

  • Ensure accuracy of all documentation attached to contracts destined for and returned by growers. Enter contract data into ExtendAg. Distribute contracts and addendums for General Manager signature 
  • Data Management: Management of all crop and field data, records, and documentation 
  • Maintain Onion and Garlic raw material data listings. File, store and archive in accordance with corporate record retention policies.
  • Grower Settlements – Track progress of received loads and completion of inspection data.  Review for accuracy and compare total received loads to Field Closure Sheets. Arrange for final settlement and review that appropriate pricing details are applied to create accurate and timely settlement to facilitate grower payments.
  • Samples: Responsible for shipping samples of raw product pulled from Dehy fields for solids and pesticide testing to internal and contracted lab(s).  Compile and enter resulting data into maintained spreadsheets and files, distributing results in a timely manner to Field Reps to permit harvesting of field.  Alerting Manager of any discrepancy on lab reports.  Contacting Field Reps as directed by Manager.
  • Responsible for purchasing office and break room supplies and maintaining the budget.

  • Strong attention to detail in order to ensure accuracy and upkeep of documents, files, and databases.  This position must be able to help formulate data collection and record retention in an ever-changing information environment 
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple priorities daily as directly by several personnel

About Sensient Natural Ingredients 

Sensient Natural Ingredients is one of the largest producers and distributors in the world of dehydrated onion and garlic products as well as chili powder, paprika, chili pepper and dehydrated vegetables such as parsley, celery, and spinach. These ingredients are used in many of today's popular convenience foods. The Natural Ingredients unit is located in Livingston, California. 

The salary range for this position is $29 - $30 USD per hour.  Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.  In addition to salary, Sensient is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits program to support the holistic well-being of our employees and their families.  This position is also eligible for performance-based incentive pay.

RELOCATION: We are unable to offer relocation assistance. The successful candidate will be expected to work at the Livingston, California location and must reside in the area or be willing to commute.
