Engineering Operations Intern

We are seeking an Engineering Operations Intern to join our growing team.  The Engineering Operations Intern is responsible for providing support towards process improvements for the St. Louis Color Operations group.  Operations supports the day-to-day production of the plant, as well as involvement with planning, maintenance, and engineering on a weekly, monthly, and yearly basis in support of site objectives. 

What You’ll Do:

• Troubleshoot process downtimes and determine root cause and corrective actions.
• Investigate standard yield variances and improvements.      Work with Process Improvement Team to develop plant trials and testing methods. 
• Analyze PFDs and P&IDs for accuracy and in support of project scope development.
• Update Standard Operating Procedures.
• Support production areas in Lean or GMP initiatives.  Perform time studies and propose efficiency improvements.

What You’ll Bring: 

• Junior level standing and working toward a four-year degree program in Chemical Engineering.  A minimum of a 3.0 overall GPA is required.
• Excellent proficiency in verbal and written communication.  Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information. 
•  Good judgment and decision-making skills.  Well-organized, detail-oriented and a self-starter.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team on a broad variety of projects.  Able to establish and maintain working relationships with employees across all levels.
• Good professional appearance and demeanor.      Strong level of influence and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
• Able to deliver effective and accurate results and meet deadlines.  Ability to execute, multi-task and thrive in an extremely fast paced, high growth environment
