We are looking for a Lead Automation Line Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional overseeing the automated packing line equipment in our repack department. Key responsibilities include optimizing production throughput, upholding safety standards, and providing technical expertise in equipment maintenance. Must know how to operate a forklift and have experience using a laptop/computer. The selected candidate must have the ability to work any shift depending on the needs of the business. 

What you’ll do:

• Set up equipment using parameters based on packaging formula. Ensure quick and efficient startup of production lines to minimize downtime. Perform inspections of packaging components to provide assurance that products meet defined customer specifications.
• Utilizes PLC’s and panel views on the equipment to setup run configuration. 
• Oversee and ensure the production line does not stop between shift changes and that the incoming automated packing line operator has been briefed and assumed responsibility.
• Responsible for trouble shooting, basic maintenance, repair and setup of automated equipment to ensure maximum productivity. Makes line equipment adjustments as necessary to ensure maximum line efficiency.
• Load bags and black cases into equipment magazine to ensure uninterrupted operation. Responsible to ensure proper labels are on packing materials. Checks and documents that the line is filling to proper weights. Ensures that metal detector is performing properly and documents findings. Ensures and documents sample collection for micro testing of finished goods.

What you’ll bring

• Ability to follow and enforce company policies with specific attention to safety (LOTO), HACCP and food safety. Safely follows company lockout/tag out policy when performing product changes, sanitation and cleaning jams.
• Working knowledge of PLC and panel view operations, limit switches, relays, proximity sensors, photo sensing devices, electronic device calibrations, voltage meters, preventive maintenance work.
• Ability to follow the schedule according to the sequence or priority set by production scheduler and does not deviate from schedule unless approved by shift supervisor.
• Able to perform equipment PM’s as scheduled.
• Experience in a Manufacturing environment and working knowledge of food manufacturing concepts.

About Sensient Natural Ingredients

Sensient Natural Ingredients is one of the largest producers and distributors in the world of dehydrated onion and garlic products as well as chili powder, paprika, chili pepper and dehydrated vegetables such as parsley, celery, and spinach. These ingredients are used in many of today's popular convenience foods. The Natural Ingredients unit is located in Turlock, California. 

The hourly rate for this position is $28.55 per hour USD. Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.  In addition to salary, Sensient is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits program to support the holistic well-being of our employees and their families. 

This position is also eligible for performance-based incentive pay.

RELOCATION: We are unable to offer relocation assistance. The successful candidate will be expected to work at the Turlock, California facility and must reside in the area or be willing to commute.
