QC Technician II

Job Summary: 

This position is responsible for preventing the manufacture or shipment of non-conforming products by conducting inspections of all products, including raw materials, and managing and analyzing inspection data. It also maintains a hygienic manufacturing environment by implementing and monitoring hygiene measures, including pest control.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

•                Assist with QC inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards. 

•                Work with standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods. 

•                Provide technical support to the quality and quality engineering functions. 

•                Operate and maintain HPLC, GC/MS and various lab instrumentation using accepted GLP procedures. 

•                Conducting microbiological testing. (Pathogenic bacteria testing is outsourced.)

•                Pest control: Overseeing and inspecting pest control operators (PCOs) and developing work plans.

•                Conducting basic physical and chemical analyses, such as using a Brix meter or hydrometer.

•                Approve and reject samples, following product guidelines and specifications, record results on every sample analyzed using lab software and databases.

•                Investigation and verification of customer complaints and inquiries.

•                Tasks related to maintaining FSSC 22000 certification.

•                Calibration management of measuring instruments.

Education & Experience: 

•                Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in Technical Degree required. 

•                5 years of experience in quality required. 

•                Understands basic statistical tools.

•                Working experience in Food and/or Food additives industry.

•                Overseeing Quality staffs.

•                Practical experience conducting audits and implementing improvements at raw material suppliers and contract manufacturers
