Sensient is growing! We are adding an experienced Shipping & Receiving Operator to our team in Kingston, ON. This important role is responsible for processing inbound and outbound raw material and packaging and finished goods, while ensuring strict adherence to the Approved Supplier List (ASL). Position

What You’ll Do:

  • Operate material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner (sit-down and stand-up forklifts).  Complete all material transfers using DSI scanner to ensure that system inventory is accurate.
  • Correct all inventory discrepancies with Production Planner. Process inbound purchase orders per departmental procedures with accurate attention to detail.
  • Transport stock materials to all inventory and production storage locations as directed. Participate in annual inventory events. Comply with all department procedures for the safe loading/unloading of trailers at the dock.
  • Record all trailer loading and unloading activity on the Trailer Inspection Report (FMSSH001).
  • Perform QC and Micro sampling of raw materials in accordance with JDE instructions, and transfer completed samples to the appropriate labs within a timely manner.
  • Once trained in JD Edwards, perform receiving process from inspection to receipt of goods in JD Edwards.
  • Operational flexibility to cross train and perform plant manufacturing duties when required. Perform other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager in support of Facility Operations.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent. JD Edwards knowledge and usage is preferred. It will be trained and expected to be utilized in the role.
  • Ability to operate motorized equipment, lift 25kg bags/boxes and handle 300kg. drums with equipment.
  • Position requires successful completion of 49CFR DOT Hazardous Materials Offer within 90 days of being assigned and recertification every three years minimum, in compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and housekeeping standards. Continuously seek methods to improve or better serve both internal and external customers.
  • Ability and flexibility to work overtime.
