Application Scientist I

Analytics Team: Lead flavor research and analysis using instrumentation like HPLC, GC, and GC-MS. Improve and develop lab workflows and methodologies. Mentor staff to ensure both technical excellence and financial success through collaborative efforts.
Flavor Creation Team: Develop innovative flavors across diverse market segments, including Beverage, Savory, and Sweet. Work closely with customers and our Applications Teams to deliver impactful, tailored solutions which drive growth and exceed market expectations.
Sensory Team: Design and execute sensory and consumer research to provide in-depth understanding of products and consumers for product development, optimization and maintenance. Conduct panels and apply statistical analysis to deliver actionable insights. Lead training of cross-functional teams and customers in flavor language.
Innovation Team: Utilize scientific expertise to develop cutting-edge ingredients, formulations, and technologies. Contribute to groundbreaking product advancements. Collaborate with a global network of Sensient scientists to shape our industry's future.
Applications Team: Partner with customers in labs and at their facilities to bring their product visions to life. Solve challenges, provide creative solutions to deliver innovative products which align with customer goals across various industries.

Application Scientist I
Sensient is growing!! Come join Sensient in this exciting time as an Application Scientist within our Color Business Unit. This exciting and dynamic customer-facing role will be part of a lab-based team developing Sensient color for food segments as bakery, processed foods, snacks and savory.
What You’ll Do:
- Works on new product ideas and modifications to determine their potential to address customer needs.
- Works under direct supervision.
- Completes basic tasks in a timely manner to support business objectives.
- Conducts color application projects with supervision, including determining the most cost-effective solutions.
- Creates new color customized solutions in the formulation system (item code and technical information associated).
- Create new technical documentation for prototypes.
- Supports in customer reports and presentations to the Technical Service Manager or Technical team.
- Scales up and first production supervision to ensure proper industrialization of food colors.
- Follows Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Takes over calibration and good functionality of laboratory equipment.
- Collaborates with the Technical team elaborating ready to eat formulations
- Runs stability tests for the new product developments of the sub-segment
What You’ll Bring:
- University degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering, or related scientific discipline required.
- Prior experience and understanding of formulation, development and production of technical ingredients is preferred. Knowledge of Analytical Analysis preferred.
- Adaptability, learning agility, collaborative skills, planning and organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in an effective manner. Excellent communication skills, experience in working with multidisciplinary areas.
- One to three years’ experience in new product development and/or use of technical ingredients in consumable goods is preferred, especially in bakery, processed foods, snacks and savory segments.
- Intermediate English preferred.
