Application Scientist I

Analytics Team: Lead flavor research and analysis using instrumentation like HPLC, GC, and GC-MS. Improve and develop lab workflows and methodologies. Mentor staff to ensure both technical excellence and financial success through collaborative efforts.
Flavor Creation Team: Develop innovative flavors across diverse market segments, including Beverage, Savory, and Sweet. Work closely with customers and our Applications Teams to deliver impactful, tailored solutions which drive growth and exceed market expectations.
Sensory Team: Design and execute sensory and consumer research to provide in-depth understanding of products and consumers for product development, optimization and maintenance. Conduct panels and apply statistical analysis to deliver actionable insights. Lead training of cross-functional teams and customers in flavor language.
Innovation Team: Utilize scientific expertise to develop cutting-edge ingredients, formulations, and technologies. Contribute to groundbreaking product advancements. Collaborate with a global network of Sensient scientists to shape our industry's future.
Applications Team: Partner with customers in labs and at their facilities to bring their product visions to life. Solve challenges, provide creative solutions to deliver innovative products which align with customer goals across various industries.

Application Scientist I
If you are looking to join a world leader with a creative and customer centric focus, then Sensient may be for you! We are seeking a passionate Application Scientist to join our team in developing innovative personal care and cosmetic products. The ideal candidate will have a background in cosmetic science and hands-on experience formulating and testing personal care and beauty products.
What You’ll Do:
- Formulate new skin care and personal care formulations to support NPD (New Product Development) launches, including creams, serums, lotions, etc.
- Research and develop new ingredients and formulations based on market trends and scientific advancements.
- Prepare samples of skin care, personal care and make-up formulations to support sales team and cosmetic exhibitions.
- Collaborate with Application Manager to understand project requirements and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct stability testing, product performance evaluations, and ensure product safety. Provide detailed documentation, reports, and specifications for each project assigned.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, or a related field.
- Previous experience in cosmetic formulation (minimum 1–3 years).
- Understanding of cosmetic ingredients, their properties, and interactions.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, EU) and safety testing protocols.
- The ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results on time. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
