As Senior Buyer at Sensient Agricultural Ingredients, you will play a key role in keeping operations running smoothly by ensuring the right materials, equipment, and services are available at the right time. In this role, you will balance day-to-day purchasing needs with longer term planning, helping maintain strong service levels while supporting quality and cost goals. This position is based on site in a professional office environment with periodic exposure to laboratory and manufacturing plant settings.

What you’ll do:

• Secure raw materials, equipment, and services needed to support plant operations 
• Negotiate complex contracts to achieve strong service, quality, and cost outcomes 
• Evaluate supplier performance and recommend improvements, including managing supplier exceptions and audits 
• Integrate materials planning with sales and operations planning to support efficient procurement activities 
• Coordinate inventory targets and support cash cycle objectives related to raw materials 
• Analyze current processes, recommend improvements, and implement changes 
• Communicate updates on raw material costs and purchasing activities to cross functional teams and leadership 

What you’ll bring:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience 
• Several years of purchasing or procurement experience in a professional setting 
• Knowledge of accounting, inventory control, and supply chain processes 
• Experience working with enterprise resource planning systems 
• Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines 
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams 
• Analytical thinking and a results driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement

About Sensient Agricultural Ingredients: 

Sensient Agricultural Ingredients is one of the largest producers and distributors in the world of dehydrated onion and garlic products as well as chili powder, paprika, chili pepper and dehydrated vegetables such as parsley, celery, and spinach. These ingredients are used in many of today's popular convenience foods. The Agricultural Ingredients unit is located in Turlock, California. 

The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 USD.  Pay within the range is based on several factors, which may include, but are not limited to, education, work experience, specialized training, and labor market conditions.  In addition to salary, Sensient is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits program to support the holistic well-being of our employees and their families.
